CARDINGTON-LINCOLN LOCAL SCHOOLS ARTS EXTRAVAGANZA - FEBRUARY 23, 2024

The Cardington Arts Department invites you to attend the 2nd Arts Extravaganza at the Cardington Lincoln High School Patrick J Drouhard Auditorium on February 23, 2024. Doors will open at 7:00pm with entertainment beginning at 7.30pm.

The Arts Extravaganza event will include art displays from our K-12 art students as well as high school ceramic creations available for purchase by donation. The high school and middle school art students invite you to not only peruse the art projects they have created throughout the school year but also to support the art program with a silent auction of some items that the high school art students have created.

The entertainment throughout the evening includes the middle school Drama Club performing two short plays, Metamorphosis and Middle School Brain, both written by Debra A. Cole. The plays explore the insecurities of middle school and how one finds the strength to overcome those obstacles. This royalty-free play is part of a fantastic collection of plays for kids and teens on Drama Notebook, https://www.dramanotebook.com/plays-for-kids/.  The high school Improv troupe will also perform a number of games and skits.

Admission is by donation and refreshments will be offered by the high school Drama department throughout the evening.

We look forward to seeing you on February 23rd, and thank you for supporting your arts programs.

Below are pictures of some of the artwork that will be auctioned off during the evening and of the middle school students rehearsing the plays that they will perform.

These works, made by high school Art 1 and Art 2 students, will be part of the
silent auction. These pieces measure 30” X 36” and follow the style of artist,
Chuck Close, who is famous for large portraits using shades and tints along
with shapes, designs and patterns to create one-of-a-kind portraits.
