As an integral part of the total educational program, the mission of the Cardington-Lincoln School District’s School Counseling Program is to advocate courageously for the academic success, for the social and emotional well-being, and for the widest range of post-secondary options for each student. School counselors, in collaboration with parents and staff, will empower and assist each student in developing skills to be a successful learner and a healthy, valuable citizen in a diverse society.

The goals of the School Counseling Program are:

    • To assist students in successfully navigating through the educational process while helping to prepare them for post-secondary options.
    • To advocate for students by acting as a liaison to all academic departments and school services, as well as to the community.
    • To provide academic advising, career and post-secondary guidance, and personal/social counseling.

The Counseling Department’s curriculum at Cardington-Lincoln Schools has been developed to meet the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Standards.
